Testimonial

My wife and I feel fortunate to have spent one year living at this very special house. The two living pavilions and beautiful gardens are comfortable, very private and wonderfully maintained.

The house faces east, opening onto a 180 degree sweep of lush rice fields and we have been witness to the cycles of growth and harvest enfolding in vast panorama. There is a constantly changing light and even on a hot day a generous, cool breeze wafts in from across the fields. It is most magical in the early morning hours when light comes through the filter of dense foliage by the river-ravine, creating long, trembling shadows on the rice fields below.

The surrounding air, colors, fragrance, shadows and sunlight are different every day, every hour, alive, inspiring and mesmerizing. The sounds change depending on the time of day, night or season, with faint bells and chanting from distant temples, chatting of busy ducks in the fields, frogs calling after each rain or the echoing of bamboo clappers.

During our residence here we've had family and friends stay with us and each has loved the experience, not wanting to leave. From our moonlight dinners on the deck, inhaling the perfume of night jasmine to the delight of picking our own fresh spinach off the vine in the organic garden, or learning cooking secrets from our lovely housekeeper Dewi, our time here has been the most memorable experience.
